sedmitor filter housung does it split apart

hi guys you know this sedmiter filter housing located by rear drivers side chassie.which collects the muck.does it unscrew apart and if so is there a filter in there i can wash it out.
 
To take it off you need to undo the bolt on top of the housing (11mm ring spanner) tap it gently to break the seal and it will come off. Have something under it to catch the bit of diesel and crap that's in it.

Clean it out and refit it, just make sure that you don't twist the rubber seal when you're refitting it or it will not seal properly and suck air into the system.

There's no filter inside, it's just a bowl that catches water/crap from the tank.
 
thanks fo that will do it tomorrow.it dont look like its ever been touched with the amount of crap ropund it.

They never are and they are a useful tool - if you look after it and clean it regularly. I find an 11mm RING spanner the best for this job.

DO NOT TOUCH THE WHITE PLASTIC BIT on the bottom or it will break and cause you grief !!!!
