security chip in remote

Hi guys i have a Landy d1 98
Drove the truck yesterday but this Moring got in waited for glow plug light to go then i notes' that the security key light is flashing .
is there anyway to bypass that or must i take it in to a moto lec

hi there got new battery but still not working busy removing the complete alarm
Removing the security ecu will certainly remove the led flashing, its also possible that you will loose central locking and that the engine will fail to start, that will be due to loosing control of the immobilise if both items are fitted to your disco and were previously functioning.

I only really have experience with the D2, but believe damp in the module is a common fault. Does the Discovery 1 have an EKA code as the D2 ? If so this will give you a pointer as to what is wrong.
Also the D2 has a transponder on the ignition switch which can lead to similar faults.
I would be wary of removing the alarm system unless you know how to bypass it.

I'm taking the truck to a auto, don't want to destroy. My truck by any means.

But thank you for all the reply's.
