So after 2015, no more Defenders.

I know they will still be around forever BUT if you were in the market for A NEW 4x4 and you could not get a Defender, what would you get?

Disco or a Range Rover.

Only thing close would be the jeep wrangler line both have a 90,and 110 similar model. 3.6 v6 factory LSD front and rear with 5 speed manual or auto getting equal MPG (maybe a bit more) as td5, puma's . Hard tops and soft tops. And there are 5.7 and 6.0 hemi versions out the with 425HP+ and factory warranty

Probably a Mitsubishi L200 or something similar

would not bother,new box,new 300 tdi,new galv bulkhead and chassis,save 20k fenders good to go for another 30+ years

If it had to be a new 4WD then I would go for a Discovery 4 diesel, then add some ARB bumpers etc. for off-roading.

Not really comparable in price to a Defender though...

yeah i would just rebuild mine too. but if i won won they lottery i would but the knight xv hahaha

Mind you, money no option, I'd probably rebuild as well .
The cost of a rebuild on a galv chassis is so low compared to anything new. You could afford a new Ashcroft box and Turner short engine and still save heaps. Drool!
