Hello,
I know it id a bit rude to ask for help as a first post to a forum but I would greatly appreciate the expertise that resides here, and in the future i hope to be able to give back some.

I recently purchased a Dakar 4x4 based upon a 1973 Range Rover. The car seems solid enough, but the interior does need a refurbishment. Currently it is fitted out with bucket seats on custom seat frames.

My intention and plan, is to put in some Range Rover Classic seats. My question is therefore whether I can fit any Range Rover Classic seat to my 1973 based car, or whether I have to stick to a certain vintage?

The dashboard is pretty much shot, and could also do with a replacement. I was therefore wondering whether I can use any Range Rover Classic Dashboard as a replacement, or if I have to stick a certain vintage?

Cheers
Tom

I would guess that being based on the classic, if it has a standard classic dash of any vintage another should fit.

From memory there were no changes to the dimensions in the Classic, there may be a difference in mountings but sure you could create some.

I have seen some Dakar motors with a custom dash, not sure but was there not an option for an aftermarket dash alondside the one borrowed from your donor motor ?

Cheers for the answer Mark :)

From what other information i have managed to gather, it seems that you are right that more or less any dash from a classic should fit. Some even say a Disco dash should fit, although there would most likely be a lot of rewirering going on :)

I dunno about a custom dash, but I will check it out and see if I can find out more about that, although I believe I would like to stick with a Range Rover dash.

i'm guessing the Disco option refers to the later classics that had the soft dash.

i know that looks very similar to the disco dash ? Don't know for sure, but if so i guess all would be good !
