Disco 4 (LR4) Seat Memory not working on 2010 discovery 4

Hi All. Does anybody know if there is a common problem with the seat memory not working. The seats do what I ask with the switches on the side of the seats but not with the memory switches on the door. Any suggestions to guide me in the right direction would be appreciated.

Gstuart is the one to ask, if he doesnt reply today hunt him down on the members list, hes bit a seat guru, but be aware once you start him on a subject he doesnt stop

Thank Lynall for the interest shown on both problems. Will try and get the interest of Gstuart for the seat problem when I can work out how to do it.

So may I ask a few questions first plse

1) is urs the one that has numbers 1-2-3 on the drivers door ,

2) when u put the disco in reverse will ur door mirrors drop down please

3) is it the same with the memory not working with different keys

4) do u have access to a code reader

5) have u got a multimeter and do u normally do ur own work

have u got an owners/ workshop manual

did the door buttons suddenly stop working and do they still illuminate

do ur windows still go up and down ok

Thanks for finding me .Again you are helping me. To answer you questions here goes;-
1) 123 and M on RH door.
2) Mirrors drop on reverse.
3) Memory not working with any key.
4) I have an i-Carsoft 930 Code Reader.
5) I have a multimeter and know how to use it.
6) I do all my own work where I can.(getting old for big jobs 73)
7) I have a soft copy of workshop Manual.
8) Door Buttons not worked since I bought it 4 years ago.
9) Windows go up and down OK.
10) The door buttons 123 and M do illuminate.

Looking forward to reading your suggestions.

many thks getting back to me and happy to help

1)first can u see what faults codes ur getting please
2 ) have u got an owners manual ,, what happens when u try and program using the buttons

3) can u check fuse 40 on the cabins fusebox plse, should be 5A, Also fuse 42

4) have u checked the memory seat settings are turned on in the CCF files , accessed using ur code reader

got a suspicion the memory module has failed, however need to prove that 100% so will find the pins u can test

Plse let me know about the codes and I’ll do some further digging for u

Rugby over. So results of what you asked ;-
1) No DTC codes
2) Nothing happens when I try to program.
3) Fuse 40 and 42 both OK.
4) Don't think my Scanner can see settings in CCF files. (Really not too sure how to drive the scanner )
Scanner info that I was able to get Data streaming.
Drivers Seat Module.
Control Module Power Supply 4.13 v
Seat Module Dealer Config Enabled Movement Inhibited During Crank.
Seat Module Dealer Config Disabled Option Gearbox Recall Cancel.
Thats all I've got.

Included the process just in case u haven’t tried to set the memory this way

indeed , don’t think ur scanner can see the full , CCF files , surprised u haven’t got any faults

Are u able to get access to a better reader , seeing a lot of things are checking out and seeing it hasn’t worked in 4 x years it may just be the door switch pack

almost forgot , do u get a small red led light on ur memory control plse

hi, ur very welcome , nothing worse when trying to pin down a fault

there is suppose to be a red light on the doors keypad , however I’ve not been able to find out researching 100% if it that’s model year , still going through manuals etc

also enclosed some electrical diagrams for u just in case u haven’t seen them , zoomed in for some of them so there clearer

thinking it might be an idea to use a multimeter and test for continuity between the memory module and ur door switch , maybe the switch has failed as it hasn’t worked , just an idea
