Has any one replaced the seat base foam? I have ordered a new foam base and rubber diaphragm from Exmoor Trim and have watched the video a couple of times and was wondering how easy/difficult the process was. This will be the first time I have ever tried my hand at upholstery.

Yes, I've done them both with exmoor's kit. It is very easy. Just follow the video exactly and you won't go wrong. Good luck

I don't quite get what you are asking? You say you've watched the video a few times so surely you now know the degree of difficulty, don't you? How much more info do you expect to get from a text-based forum that you don't get watching someone doing it on a video?

If it's reassurance you're after, well it is as easy as it looks on the video.

It always looks easy in the demo so it's not unreasonable to ask if there's any hidden nasties, I usually do if it's a first time with a new area.

Let us know how it goes.

Pas du tout, M Le grand, I was just using 'KeepDiggings' logic. Will be removing the seat this pm and making up the tools as suggested in the video. I am not using new covers as there is nothing wrong with mine, I am hoping that the leather will mould itself to the new foam maybe with the addition of a little leather food.

How much did the parts cost? Looking at doing the same but would like to also replace the beige leather but can't find a supplier so thinking about trying a dye on them.

The diaphragm & Seat foam, including VAT & P&P come out at a few coppers short of £85.00 from Exmoor. Have a look at their website they have several high quality seat covers, though if you have leather then your covers will be a bit different from the cloth ones depicted, but only a bit. From memory dyeing the leather is something not to be taken lightly. It may be better to get an entire interior or just put up with beige. I will post again when I have done the job, have had the seat apart today in preparation.

I don't know about the Disco or Exmoor, but I put new foam & cloth on all my Defender seats when I bought it and they're still good as new. It's the only Britpart part I can truly recommend!

Seat foam arrived, three hours later re-fitted back in the disco. The whole procedure was easy I just followed the video instructions allowing for the few differences in the covers fitted to my XS model. There are more hooks on the new diaphragm so you need to drill both the front and rear rails to add extra holes. Replacing my existing covers was possibly easier than new, I easily managed to do up the J clips. Overall very pleased with the results the seat is much more supportive and the cover is now stretched correctly with no folds. In time the leather should lose the creasing it has gained, I just need to keep feeding it.

Yes, only the one as the passenger seat has not been used as much as the drivers and is still in good condition. Though I would not hesitate to do the seat if it needed it.
