Seat bulkhead removal for space

I've been wanting to do this for some time and ordered myself a bar for Xmas. I'd planned to do it in my time off between Xmas and new year.

I was at the boozer last night and a mate warned me that it would void my insurance? Said his mate had done it and couldn't get anyone to insure it and ended up buying a new rear tub!?!?

Anyway, I know you have to declare mod's such as alloys/towbar/engine remaps etc but has anyone had any issues with this?

I did mine and declared it on my list of mods to the insurers. No problem.

Did it make much of a difference to cost? How did you describe it? Just seat bulkhead strengthening bar? Who do you use?
