When I have asked at LR repairers localy no one will offer to test the fobs without putting it on the textbook, fine but when they find the fob is not transmitting they still want between 30 and 60 pounds. Oh and we will have to order one in for you.

Strange when a quick check with the tester would give a good indication of whether or not you need to buy a new one and then get it set to the car.

If you see an AA or RAC patrol out and about you could offer em a 'drink' in exchange for testing your fobs.;)
