Sealent

Hi guys,

Anyone know what sealants are used around the body parts of the landy? some seem to remain soft, like on edges of doors seat etc.

Others seem to be harder, like windscreen etc.

What do most people use?

Dum dum does most but not available anymore, however, put dum dum into eBay and almost identical stuff is available on a roll. Sold by way? Something, wayside?

Just checked tis wayside. I got some, good stuff.

Butyl tape is often recommended for sealing between surfaces as it never hardens.

Non setting windscreen sealent. I got a tube from my local windscreen place and it was cheap.
Roof? External gutter?

Any place you have two reasonably flat surfaces would be good for butyl tape. It can fill larger gaps if you use multiple layers and don't swish it all out when tightening up. I don't know how a Defender windshield is held in place. Special gasket? Special glue? Shouldn't cost too much for a shop to reseal a flat windshield that size.
