Haha.....funny, i like that :D

Yes you can but unless you can get it right into the joints (which you cant very well unless your pulling panels apart) any silicon will start to peel after a while.
I use roof and gutter sealant.....horrible stuff to use but works better and is overpaintable when it (eventually) sets semi hard

Another method is seam sealer, as done on van roofs, if done well looks neat, bearing in mind you can only see the roof if your looking out a 1st floor window or something.

Clean the roof up, get it immaculate. Run along the seams with a piece of sandpaper over your finger to gently key the area - just wide enough for the sealant.

Apply some masking tape along the side of the roof seams so that the seamsealer will only be about 3/4 of an inch wide, working quickly with a shortened bristle paint brush and some whitespirit apply a line of sealer, then with a little whitespirit smooth it down. Don't overwork it or it will look terrible and start to come up again.

Let it set for 5 minutes and peel back the tape.

It will be totally dry within a few hours.

Works well and unlike silicone can be overpainted.

Why stop the leak? Mine refresh my tired and sleepy eyes on long journeys and in winter that ice cold meltwater down the back of yr neck is better than a slap in the face for waking ya up!:D:D

I totally agree, although the soaking wet arse cheek, when I sit on my seat gets a tad trying

I was told ''captain tollys creeping crack cure'' was the boy,had to look it up to see if it was a wind up but it's real and works on a capillery action, flows into cracks and then seals the sucker up.find it in boat stores

Man, thats got to be the coolest name for a sealant ever invented, think i might buy some just cause its got the ultimate sealant name and i dont even have a leak in my landy, ok im lying, it pours on me too...

It's best on windscreen rubbers or very small (almost invisible) seam cracks - it's very liquid so won't cope with the sort of gaps you can get where say the roof meets the windscreen surround

I agree with Redhand: Puraflex 40 is the business, you can stick metal together with it, don't get it on your hands, unless you fancy taking a scourer pad into the shower!
