Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if there is an easy way replacing this seal without having to undo everything, splitting the screen from the bulkhead? It's the seal between the lower front screen and bulkhead, just above the aircon flap.

Thankssssss! :)

Sorry for the giant photo, I'm on my phone

I could be wrong but I think its a windscreen frame out job
either that or jack up the roof with the windscreen frame attached
although you would have to undo the roof bolts first :D

Is this on an older one with flip forward screen or a new one with no hinges? (obviously it isnt yours as its too new)

It's an R reg 300tdi non flip down...

Aye it's not mine... Asking for a mate :)

Its frame out job then i am afraid.

whilst your there though you can change out the roof one as well as you might as well.

for the sale pictured i just used some foam rubber tape but i got it a few mm bigger than the original and made sure it was a good tight squeeze that way. You can get 10mtrs for a few quid on ebay!

Do it properly. I did mine last year, the windscreen frame comes out easy enough, just needs 2 of you to get it in and out.

Chances are there will be corrosion on the top of the bulkhead, mine luckily had a very small amount of surface rust at the ends that I sorted so was a good time to change anyway, but I have seen pics of absolute horror stories revealed so be prepared just in case!

Replaced that seal and the vent seals with series ones and no more leaks from that area.

Mine is a folding windscreen model but it wouldn't budge so taking it out was the easiest option.

I just cut mine back a few mm with a scalpel then ran a beed of tiger seal round it. Check the hinge covers as well as they can leak also down the bolt holes ..

I have the same problem with mine, looks awful!! May bodge it nice! Trim back, sealant then rubber trim!
