Anyone, is it possible to seal Tubed rims by seam welding the inside, so the use of tubeless tires can be used (obviously without the tube), as you cant get hold of tubed tires anymore for love nor money?

It'd be a hell of a lot of work when you consider you could bet a set of landy steel rims for next to fook all. Even a set of brand new steel modulars ain't much money.

Cheers fella's reason being I want to use tubeless tyres with out tubes, is because of the butyl lining in the tubeless tyre rubs on the tube and creates a puncture.

Apart from a lot of hard work welding im just gonna have to put up with the fact im stuck with tubes in tubeless tyres and lots of punctures! or replace the rims to accept tubeless tyres!

Thanks again, just need to consider my options now.

They can very rarely cause a puncture, but i have tubes in my tubeless tyres and ive only ever had one problem.

the reason you need tubes is not so much that they are not sealed, but that the bead is different and is not designed to hold in air, whereas tubless rims are. So, although you may make it seal it would be unlikely and not reliable.
