I'm allmost starting to feel sorry for the Freelanders owners who ask questions about red brake calipers now (I did say allmost)

im one of them. as far as im concerned if you hav'nt got anything nice to say you shouldn't say anything atall.
my best advice if you don't get along with someone is to pretend you do or say nothing.

Are you sure you've got drive to the front wheels? The symptoms you describe are typical of rear wheel drive vehicles, made worse by crap tyres. My 110 on BFG mud tyres doesn't have much grip under braking but it's never tried to let go on a bend at any speed. Make sure nothing has broke leaving you with no drive to the front.

im pretty sure i'v got front axle drive because when i go across the fields it trows mud over the wings when i pull of a bit sharpish. indicating that the front wheels are spining even tho stationary and stuckish. i spoke to a chap who used to have them on the rear of a hilux and he said that exactly the same things happend to him but only with the back end. this and all of your opinions are leading me to the conclusion that it is the tyres so before i break the bank im gonna swap the 235/85/16 off me 300 and se what happens to both vehicles.

With a combined total of over 3K posts i'd say they were regulars.

Weren't me an a noob, honest!

its the tyres, was exactly the same problem with the 300 when swaped over swaped em back knowing that i got to take it much easier. my advice is there are better off road tyres and better onroad tyres than the deestones. i reckon that a decent set of a/t would out perform them on the muddy stuff and be safer on the road. so iknow wat im savin for!

FFS I go offline fer the weeekend and people start been nasty about me. I'm fecking heartbroken. If i'd known I was gonna be so unpopular I'd never have joined this site. Un there was I thinking I woz keeping all those newbies on the straight & narrow, when all the time I woz upsetting em Aaawww diddums.
