Hi All,
This is my first post - I have searched but been unable to find anything that covers my faults on my satnav.

I have just bought this weekend, a nice Autobiography 4.6 year 2000. The built in satnav is Phillips, the stereo works perfectly, the satnav disc is an ebay copy i was told by the previous owner. The machine that holds the disc takes the disc, but has trrouble ejecting. I can get the disc out if i shove something in the slot but that's the only way i can manage it. There is a red light on it too so there is power to that part at least.

The screen on the dash does nothing and i have no idea where to go from here.

Can anyone help?

cheers,
Kurt

I take it this is the Carin 522 with no buttons on the screen surround. There should be a remote control with it. The screen on mine is blank when in standby, until you switch it on with the remote. Then it shows a warning screen, then you have to press OK for the screen to light up and show the menu. The remote is usually located in a holder in the top of the cuddy box.

Thanks for your help guys. I have the remote and figured it out last night. Is now asking for the disc - where can I get one from? If the cd player (can't think of what to call it!) for the sat nav maps/dics is having trouble ejecting -

1. What are the chances of it reading?

2. Can it be repaired?

regards

If it's copied disc have you got it in the right way up. I know that may sound silly but if there is nothing written on it, it is easy to do. I imagine disc unit can be repaired at your local car radio repair shop.
