I know many of you use your mobiles for sat/nav but I just wanted to give a heads up to one I have just found.

I use Copilot, Navigon, Igo as well as the google map navigation but have a look at this if you haven't already.....

This is really great as the traffic, accidents, delays are updated live by other Waze users.
You can easily update problems as you drive to alert fellow users.

Well worth a look, but it will impact on data useage I suspect.

Does it work in Europe? Many do not.

@Datatek

I have just entered Eiffel Tower as a destination and it showed Paris on the map with Waze users close by.
However it failed to calculate a route from my location in Heathrow.

So it appears the maps work, maybe the channel upset the routing part.

It is free so a quick download will verify its functionality. It is worth a look though.

I like the fact that you can easily update other users of problems as can they & it appears on the map instantly.

Waze is a pretty nice concept, it's a sort of community based nav/traffic system. I don't use it for long distance navigation but it's awesome to use in the city. It tracks it's users and then gives you traffic information based on their position/speed and reports (users can report accidents, construction works, closed roads, etc..).

I rarely use SatNav, I can mostly memorise a route from a map, I do have Google maps on my tablet, useful for difficult to find houses in France. I rely on motoway radio for traffic alerts, works better than Tom Tom.
Different in the UK of course with all the traffic jams.

I have used Waze for quite a while and it is very useful. Especially the traffic aspect. Obviously you need a lot of data as it doesn't store the map data locally. It is as accurate as my 3 year old TomTom but a recent update I feel was a disaster GUI wise. It used to show which junction to take on a round about with a simple to view icon. Now it is just a circle with a number in the middle. Makes things awkward.
