Salisbury Diff Coupling flange

Hi all,
Has anyone any idea of the torque setting for the drive coupling nut on a Salisbury rear diff (110)? I've fitted new pinion bearings and flange as the original was found loose and 'machined' away, but now can't seem to tighten the new flange to take out the horizontal play. I'm wondering if I'm not tightening the nut enough to compress the bearing spacer?

Any info would be welcome. Thanks.
 
to do it properly you need to remove the diff assy completely and measure with a spring balance the resistance of the pinion through a particular hole in the diff flange, it has to be acurate to Lr specs and not just done up tight as per rover diffs but i guess you know that. Mine was kin tight i couldnt move it with a 4 foot bar for the drive shaft twisting so im guessing its gotta be bloody tight. I counted the ammount of turns mine came off and re did it that tight which was again kin tight Jai
 
Thanks for that. As I have no original datum to work from I think I'll follow your lead and assume that my 120 Nm (ish) is a little light. Sounds like it's time for the 3/4 drive and a reasonable amount of bad language, that'll leave me the 1" drive and truly offensive language in case I need to get it off again!
