Really chuffed to get the car though an MOT with advisories only for low brake-pads all round and an oil leak...well...it wouldn't be a Landy without an oil leak, would it?!?!
Bought a replacement for the original leaking radiator but...was from a "Gems" and mine's a yes...you've guessed it...a "Thor". Mechanic sorted a workaround by using materials at hand. Doesn't look pretty, but it's working.
BUT...during winter of 2017/18, I had no heat on drivers side. Still the same now and the weather's turning cold....and I'm getting soft...and old! After being parked up for so long, the car's also got damp carpet to the passenger footwell. Lotsa condensation on inside of windscreen the last couple of nights, so sucked up the damp with Karcher window vac and will place a small dehumidifier in car tonight.
When I warmed up the engine this afternoon, there appeared to be warm air on passenger side but, when I messed about with selecting different air outlets, now have plenty of cold air, but no heat.

Can anybody please advise a logical way of fault-finding please? I' be very grateful.
Hoping it may just be an airlock or two...

Wow, ok.
The two coolant pipes coming from the engine into the cab should be hot. If they are and you still have no heat then it may well be the heater flaps on the heater box behind the dash.
What hevac do you have?
Do you have dual zone heating with two temperature switches?
The humidity could be rain water leaking from under the windscreen panels around the cabin filter housings or the o'rings from the heater feed pipes, again under the dash. Do you lose any coolant?

Only driven car 1.5 miles from MOT centre and then run it until temp gauge sits in the middle and stays there.
HEVAC has dual zones.
When you say cabin filter housings...are you referring to the pollen filters?
I see the garage mechanic again tomorrow morning...he's had several P38's in the past so I'll discuss this with him.
Certainly NOT a smell of coolant inside cabin.
Thanks for your pointers.

your more than welcome. yes the pollen filters under the screen on both sides.
there never is a smell of coolant,(unless its piddling in)!
it ends up being soaked up into the carpet underlay and can lead to corrosion on the becm plugs causing gremlins..but if your coolant level stays true then it may just be rain ingress.
good luck. nothing worse than being a cold ass!! ;)

Thanks Mark.
I'll have a chance to investigate later this week hopefully and a guy I met at church recently used to be an LR Range Rover Technician in France who's now moved back to the UK and he seems keen to help out...
