my series 3 88" has both doors sagging at the rear ends by approx 4-5mm

I have tried lifting the with my hands and there doesn't seem to be much play at all in the hinges, no more than 1mm

any idea how to fix this, and what caused it?

i thought maybe loosening the hinge screws, lifting the door up and then tightening them might fix it

4mm isnt too bad!
It could be that the frames are starting to give way and the doors are sagging because of that. Adjusting by the hinges as you say is the way forward. Or if you suspect that your doors are sagging because of rusty frames, get the door and use some weight to pull it up - sometimes works for a while :)

Hmm, good luck then! If no impact driver, sometimes a (correctly sized) screwdriver and whacking it with a hammer while turning on the screwdriver can help get them going. If not, drlill them out and get new fixings. My hinges are well due to be replaced actually, another thing to add to the list!

My passenger door sags - though that's due to being too lazy to open it when green-laning and letting someone else drive and having to open gates.

Word of warning - standing on them is not a good plan :) (when at half height this is)
