Safari Snorkel question

Recently fitted a safari snorkel and was driving today when the rain came on so heavy it could have raised the ark..........was unable to stop and turn the snorkel head round as I was on the motorway, just wondering what impact this would have on the air intake, it felt ok!!
Should you turn it round in heavy rain? Do you need to?

None at all Safari's have run off slots in the top. thatb allow the water to run out of the snorkel at the top.

The slots are there for this very purpose (it would be a bit impractical to have to turn it around every time it rained!) but personally I leave mine pointing rearwards all the time anway.

A bit of water in the filter will not pass through into the engine in any quantity and damp air actually aids combustion in a diesel engine so not a problem I'd say...
