'Morning all.

This is mainly to confirm my understanding in what is involved in fitting both a second battery in place of the jack and a Safari snorkel to a 300tdi D1 with ABS. I have googled for photos of this combination with no success.

The 300tdi airbox is where the 2nd battery will go, so I need to replace it with a 200tdi airbox; if it weren't for the ABS the appropriate Safari snorkel (SS300HF) would then be a straightforward fitment. It would appear from the Safari site that a model for an ABS-equipped 200tdi isn't available.

Am I right in this assessment, or has someone else already been through this process and found an answer?

TIA

Easy, use the 300 abs snorkel kit as it comes with a bracket that moves the air box to the side. The original air intake is then removed and blanked off, as the inlet from the snorkel enters through the side closest to the inner wing upright. Battery is a snug fit in the tray then.
Wil try to get a pic of mine later, as I have this setup.
There is a guy on facebook selling safari copies for 99 squid delivered (abs version)

There you go. Ignore the wiring, still got to tidy that up

Sorry to thread jump but I'm about to do a similar thing with mine...

V8 D1 Safari snorkel into a 300tdi without ABS. Have bought anuvver 300tdi airbox to fettle just in case I cock up with the cutters or mastic! Also, planning on banging anuvver battery in with a split charge system - 2nd battery will be for lights/fridges/tv when parked up.

If anyone has photos of such a setup, please share 'em ;) :tea:

The Jack fits nicely on the offside wing top, if you are wondering what to do with it. You do need to keep the plate it stands on and fix to the top of the wing. Would supply pictures, but still have not worked out how to post them, yet.
