I know that this problem may appear to be nonsense bearing in mind I'm driving my 200tdi Defender every day. Anyway here goes. My safari door rattles on its metal catch and on longer journeys really starts to drive me crazy. Please don't misunderstand- I really enjoy driving my Defender with its engine noise minor rattles bumps and all- but does anyone out there know how to cure this annoying constant rattle please!?!:(
 
ok then.......................

adjust the door catch! check the condition of the rubbers/hinges, but given that yours is sooo new that should all be good
 
I seem to have a piece of guide latch missing. This is the slightly tapered guide block underneath the latch that probably holds the door more securely in position. I realize that the Spare Dakar bolted to the safari will bounce around whilst driving over minor bumps thus causing the door to rattle. so I will try and find or purchase the missing part to perhaps solve the iritatiing .

Ultimately silence within a defender equates to security and soldity which is why we love them.
