i would say disconnect the lever on the pump from the cable, it will allow you to start it at least BUT be careful as you will have to stick your hands inside the engine bay with the engine running to stop it !

It sounds to me like the engine has a mixture of old and new type glow plug system fitted. That will not work properly, so either put it all back to original or convert it properly to the parallel glowplug system.

Undo one of the unions onto an injector and crank the engine over. Fuel should come out. If not, then check that fuel is going to the fuel injection pump by removing the fuel inlet pipe to the injection pump. Crank it over. Loads of fuel should come out. If fuel comes out, then it looks like there is a problem with the fuel injection pump. Check to make sure that the engine cut out lever is not jammed. If that is good, then the injection pump needs to be overhauled. If no fuel comes out then, the fuel lift pump could be broken or the pipes blocked or damaged, or even no fuel in the tank:doh:

hi guys just an update i have fuel coming out of the banjo inlet to the fuel pump but no fuel coming out to the injectors so i presume the pump is blocked up is there any way to unblock this myself or does the pump need an overhaul and is this pricey?

take the four bolts of the top of the injector pump, you will need to remove the bracket on top first, under the cover you will find a roter with sliding blades, i expect they will be stuck in, clean and replace them, top back on, then crank the engine with one injector pipe lose until fule comes though ( not a lot) the fire her up!

another update have got the top off the fuel pump to reveal the black wedges and the whole thing was pretty stiff i have now got it to rotate but still no fuel coming through not much resistance on the lift pump i have a couple of pumps and it goes loose as if it is up to pressure i only get fuel to come out of the banjo on top of the pump or the right hand bleed nipple and both have fuel come out under pressure.

there is a filter on the inlet to top of pump, could this be blocked, fuel should come out of both bleed nipples on pump,
have you cracked off the fuel unions on top of injectors till loose, is fuel coming out here when cranking

i have a bit of a pump manual pm me your email , useful if youre stripping pump
