hi all, i have a series 3 with a 3.5 V8 out of a range rover classic, the grill is now level with the front wings, (defender style)
It has a radiator fitted at an angle as i guess it was to tall.
I want to replace it with one that does the cooling job and fits better.
Has anyone got any suggestions ?
Idealy the pipe fittings need to be similar.
Many thanks. Mike

I've got a proper V8 one for sale thats come from my series as I've replaced it with a smaller one to keep the series front end, got two 8" fans on it too

Its the SD1/RRC V8 radiator

I'm happy to post as I'm in cumbria

Measurements off the top of my head are 690 x 450 or something around that, I know it'll fit in a standard defender front end as well as a series front end as it was fitted in mine originally until I moved everything about

No they don't, a V8 rad has a far larger surface area than the original series rads

With the V8 you're better to over cool than under
look doc this is cj2a (I hijacked my granddads account) we both know that you are wonderful with v8s how many have you destroyed now by trying to make them run and the series 2 rad is a far superior rad to the series 3 rad its a lot thicker is a 4 core, with a decent water pump they will happily be kept cool and if you add a kenlowe it will be even better

As far as I'm aware I've not destroyed any……had one with a blown headgasket that wasn't my fault and one with a bald camshaft but again not my fault  so nice try but if you're going to insult me do try and get your facts right

If he's got the defender front end on it already he may as well use the extra space to his advantage I am in mine

ok, before we get any deeper, im in Plymouth so could i collect or would you post?
I can check measurements and fitting tonight.
thanks.
Doc, is this rad upside down in this picture? also can you message me with cost inc carriage. My front end is not proper defender but some west country conversion ! fibre glass centre panel and bonnet, the rad is just suspended between two pieces of inch angle, work though.
thanks. Mike
