Rusty doors

HI, I have a 1990, 200tdi, 110 and the paintwork is starting to bubble and peal off on both front doors and the rear. I am wandering if I should just sand it down and paint over it or if I should think about changing the doors.
I have tried to show some pictures but I can't seem to crack picture loading on here.
Just manage to post the pictures on my album.

I know if they were normal car doors it would be best to replace them, but I thought being Aluminum they were not supposed to rust so quick. I wandered if a repair might last for a while?
 
Depends on how much time, effort and money you are prepared to give. Leave them they'll probably last another ten years, depending on the frames. Remove, blast, respray and then paint the insides with waxoyl, and they will last another thirty years.

Mine were worse than that, the problem is when you start to sand them down the oxidisation dissapears and small hole appear instead. I have filled them and painted them and they will do for a while yet or at least until I can afford new ones.
 
thats not bad at all...

take the door card off and look inside.

the bubbling you get is a reaction between the doors outer skin (aluminium) and the frame (steel)

the frame might be starting to rust, so just clean and protect with waxoyl
