Hi,

Just been out poking around under my S3 to find any rusty bits that I'll need to replace during the rebuild.

Pretty happy, nothing rusty on the chassis (touch wood!) all the main members good, outriggers good, crossmembers good. But did find something that I cant name?? (or find a part number for in the manual)

Its on the passengers side, and is roughly the same shape as the fuel tank, but isnt. I dont think its the bottom of the seat box, although it could be. Any Ideas?

Anyway, its completly rusted through, and a replacement is deffinitly needed!

Also, Bulkhead is completly shot. (have attached some pictures of my footwells ;) which consist 50% patches, 2% orginal metal and 48%rust. Was hoping it might be get an MOT as it is, but have just remembered that one of the MOT checks is rust near the brake pedal (am i correct?) and theres this one (see photo) about 2" completly through just next to the pedal bolts (spring can just be seen in photo)

Bugger!

Still in need of a new bulkhead then!

Yeh,

Both Top corners and Door Pillars are gone as well, so I just want to change the whole thing.

Its just finding one!

it is the tool tray that sits under the passenger seat - normally they lift out - when i find my manual i'll post the part number but you might better off just plating over the gap where it was

ahh that fits the description. Ill have a look if i can get another. Would like to put an Invertor under there, after the rebuild, so would like to keep it.

Thanks,

Ahh, just been out an had a look, I think it is the tool tray, but it doesnt seem to come out, its just part of the seat base, so guess Ill need a new one of them!

Dont forget to paint it white, I find White landies are slightly faster on the road and a little better off road as well.

Now Now!

I think Olive is more threatning? so then people will get outta your way quicker. Although think they do with any colour.

just got my new hi-lift! Now ive got to get stuck to use it!

go pretend to get stuck and play with it, that way you'll know how to use it before you really get stuck
