Sounds expensive any idea what that would set me back and I take it it would be a big job to do ? ThanksThat is rough. D2's are known for it.
I would suggest you may want to start looking at a rear chassis replacement.
Cheers

Thanks a lot I’ll have a look into it now
Thanks yes I thought it didn’t sound right to do that... just looking for a cheaper alternative than replacing the chassisDo not not cover rusty metal with good, rust will just eat the new metal quicker than I get through a Sunday roast
Yer of course I just don’t trust taking it to a garage when they will just want to make a quick buck. Just don’t know enough about the chassis myselfWith time and enthusiasm allot can be repaired on Landys with a welder but you must draw a line when structural integrity is at risk

Will do thanks for the advice appreciate it. If it’s not a complete rust bucket underneath that doesn’t need completely replacing it is it worth getting it all coated up in rust protection paint ? ThanksThe D2 chassis keeps on giving..holes.
while you are down there check the front of the chassis where it starts to go from the centre flat section to the front suspension the area where it raises up, give that a poke.
Also poke behind the shock mounts in that triangular mount. Plus if you ever remove the airbags , poke a hole in the chassis behind them.
Cheers
The D2 is a great motor, but somehow LR managed to give the chassis the rust issue. Will do thanks for the advice appreciate it. If it’s not a complete rust bucket underneath that doesn’t need completely replacing it is it worth getting it all coated up in rust protection paint ? Thanks
