Eeeeee I dunno.
Dear old Blobbers' Freelander 2 2009 still ain't working proppa like.
Going up a twisty hill it goes into limp mode, restart fixes it until another twisty hill is encountered or foot down accelaration over 50mph.
Code read a transmission fault but it's smooth as a nut otherwise - I even changed the auto box fluid with the correct oil.MAP and MAF sensors replaced.I can't get under the old girl to check the fuel pipes as it's bucketing down here in The Cambrians.
I'd almost suspect some sort of fuel starvation going up a hill?Flies along otherwise, until I apply a bit of welly.
A mechanic chum had the turbo out and cleaned some gunge but still no joy,EGR blank ditto.

Whay am oy to doooooooo....

Don't suppose it's got a vibration sensor on the camshaft or something similar?
Could be something really simple like a dodgy wire / connection and the ECU is putting it into limp mode to play safe?

I know nothing about modern engines, so just threw that out there to ponder.
I'm sure there will be a lot more suggestions coming soon....good luck ;)

Thanks for the support mate.

If it’s going into restricted performance it’s got to flag a code - what you using to read the codes?

How have you blanked the EGR?

I bought a cheapo Chinese reader which flagged up a couple of codes pertinent to transmission, box seems to shift up and down okay,I changed the oil but no joy.
Fuel filter I had replaced at last service unless I got gipped of course.Would leaky injectors show up as an error code?
Look chaps I'm getting perilously close to going to see a (gulp) Main Dealer. You know the one...Aberystwyth...wizened guy behind the jump...when rubbed together the gleeful hands make a sound like rustling leaves.

Those codes are I believe the two systems of the car you can read using the OBD tester - engine and powertrain

Can you select either one of them and get more info?

Where are you mate? I'm in North Wales, if you're not too far away I'll read the codes for you.

Thanks for the offer.
It may actually read as P0738/9.which would make sense as 07 being a transmission code - "engine speed ouput high/low".Crankshaft position sensor?Anybody experienced this as a Limp Mode culprit?
Hmmmm...maybe not as I've had a look and it's an 03 number....
