Hi all,
I have a 2001 defender 110 td5 and it as been solid until last year when the fuel pump went. I had it replaced straight away, however now my defender seems to lack power when going up even the slightest of hills on the road. It also sometimes lacks power when in gear 5. However if i was to pull up at traffic lights it will accelerate away abosultly fine. It also had to be towed to the garage as the other day it didn't start but when arriving at the garage it started straight up, but i was parked on a slope over night. My mechanic plugged it in to the computer and nothing appeared wrong. I think it could be fuel starvation and the new pump playing up, but i can't understand why it will pull away from a dead start fine and go through gears 1,2,3 and 4 but when it gets to five or going up any hill the landrover just doesn't want to know. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what the problem is.
