ok so I cleared all the faults, although some would not clear.
BCM fault 3
HVAC fault 1
PAM fault 1
AHCM fault 1
any help would be gratefully received, thanks

I am not sure I am using this correctly because some codes did not clear then I get codes which do not tell me anything, so what does code 1 or 3 mean, HELP

hiya

what fault codes did u get please as indeed that’s what u need , that’s the modules saying there’s the relevant fault codes on those ecus

should be able to open the folders and give u the code numbers for each fault, then if u list them here we can help to what they mean

ok now got the errors from the code reader
BCM 3 errors, B1B02-28.........Low frequency coil,
B1C15-3A.......mirror feed back
BIC57-14..........unused relay
AHCM 1 error no start BID29-93
HVAC . SYSTEM PRESSURE BIB78-84
PAM . REAR SOUNDER BIB52-96

that is as far as i get, other than when i cleared faults they did not all go.

If they wont clear then they are current faults, ie they are there now.

Bcm sounds like nowt to worry about, do the mirrors work? ie heat/move/fold if they are folding ones?
Ahcm I do not even know what it is, says non start so possibly fbh? if fuel tank is below 1/4 it wont start, do this often enough and its locks out.
Hvac sounds like low a/c gas, does the a/c work? ie does the alloy piperwork near the battery box get cold. real cold?
Pam, maybe rear park sensor sounder ie the internal bleeper?

So most of it sounds like stupid stuff that should not stop the car functioning

Have you driven it and read the codes again to see which are new?

Many thanks for the content below..........

Ahcm I do not even know what it is, says non start so possibly fbh? if fuel tank is below 1/4 it wont start, do this often enough and its locks out.........never a problem
Hvac sounds like low a/c gas, does the a/c work? ie does the alloy piperwork near the battery box get cold. real cold?.............arcon does not work well but that should not stop the car from working
Pam, maybe rear park sensor sounder ie the internal bleeper?......rear sounder does not work but everthing else does.

So most of it sounds like stupid stuff that should not stop the car functioning

Have you driven it and read the codes again to see which are new? I cleared the codes and went 10 feet and the front brakes locked up again, the e warning lights then came on.
I will try again on Friday (not working so can spend a bit more time on it.
I will clear all faults then re test it, will let you know, thanks again for the help.

Back to wheel sensors or gearbox sensors as already mentioned?

just about to re do the tests on the car, where is the wheel sensor for the abs, might be worth giving it a clean and checking if the grating for the sensor is still attached to the hub assembly.

Results are in:-
So, cleared all codes, started car moved 4 metres and the front brakes activated slowing the car, then ok for 50 metres after turning right then warning lights and more automatic brake action.
whilst engine still running with warning lights on I re ran the test.

ATCM
    1. VO421-94 ride control invalid
    2. VO416-94 INVALID CODE
RLM
  1. VO416-86 INVALID CODE
TCCM
  1. VO126-87 LOST STEERING MODULE - INTERMITTANT
VDM
  1. STEERING ANGLE SENSOR
  2. DATA INVALID

So I would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction please.
many thanks

Hiya

check what ur steering wheel angle sensor is at , with the steering wheel in a straight position , if there out it can cause the DSC to kick in

with ur scanner set ur steering wheel dead straight and makes sure the degree on ur scanner is at zero, will then tell the ecu’s what position ur steering wheel angle is

There should be a steering wheel angle sensor calibration menu on the scanner

hope that helps

Plus as a side note where u mention V in front of codes that should be U , can ignore them

Plse let us know how u get on , ensure the wheels are dead straight when resetting angle sensor, steering wheel should also be the same as ur tyres being straight

ok, so on the drive I moved forward then turned straightened and ensured the wheels were head on, did this twice and got different readings each time
initially reading was 264.5 , then got -40.9,

Dave

sounds like it’s out, what ur trying to do is when the wheels are dead straight that the angle should read zero degrees, so the ecus knows in what direction ur tyres are

The steering wheel might not be 100% straight in comparison to ur tyres, so set ur tyres dead straight , then reset the angle, it should then be zero

if the angle sensor is still all over the place the steering wheel angle sensor on the column has come loose which is a common issue

but Plse let us know how u get on first with recalibrating the steering wheel angle sensor

Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) Service

Steering Angle Sensor Calibration permanently stores the current steering wheel position as the straight-ahead position in the steering angle sensor EEPROM.

Therefore, the front wheels and the steering wheel must be set exactly to the straight-ahead position before calibration. In addition, the vehicle identification number is also read from the instrument cluster and stored permanently in the steering angle sensor EEPROM.

On successful completion of calibration, the steering angle sensor fault memory is automatically cleared.

Calibration must always be carried out after the following operations:

Steering wheel replacement
Steering angle sensor replacement
Any maintenance that involves opening the connector hub from the steering angle sensor to the column
Any maintenance or repair work on the steering linkage, steering gear or other related mechanism
Wheel alignment or wheel track adjustment
Accident repairs where damage to the steering angle sensor or assembly, or any part
of the steering system may have occurred 17

hi, I re calibrated the steering sensor and after checking is said zero degrees, got 50 meters down the road and the brakes and warning lights came on.
rechecked the sensor angle and it read 368 degrees.
ideas, ..........

ok, thks, can u do me a favour plse on ur dashboard in the middle, there’s a DSC button, press that and see if there’s any difference driving it plse , thks, a light should come up on the instrument dial
