Running or Not Running

Mine's still running...despite its best efforts not to. New battery and alternator have improved its overall health no end...

Just have to sort out the whiny diffs, grumbly wheelbearing(s), leaky half-shaft seal, vibrating engine and flaring gearbox...

Running.

A long list of bits to do.
I see it as a running rebuild and plan to take three years to get it right.
No Defender can be so comfortable....

3 Years? Sounds about right...my last one took that long....then someone wrote it off!!

1999 HSE Running, but some RF issues hopefully sorted with a new RF receiver ordered

2000 dse, fuel sender/ guage waiting to be replaced. Hope this hasnt put a hex on it :drum:

Mine runs fine once the gearbox heats up. Until then it is slightly sluggish getting going, which is a pain in the arse when trying to pull out of junctions and turn right.

Change the oil and filter in the box. Or it will die.

...... and back in the not running category!

I think I really need to replace my RF unit as even with the areal disconnected I still woke up to a flat battery :-(

so shopping list this weekend, New RF unit, New Battery, New A/C belt, Tax and Insurance - ouch!!!

Do the RF receiver ASAP or it could burn you door lock motors then it will be an even bigger "ouch" An Aalphaline MF31-1000 is the biggest battery that will fit, about £98 delivered from Battery Megastore on line, 4 year warranty. No connection just a satisfied customer.

Thanks Datatek Sending Dad on a mission to get me the part today while I'm in work as he lives in Manchester and Land Rover parts department don't open on weekends!! The time when us that work will be doing repairs?:doh:
