Ive just got some running lights which I’m wanting to work with the ignition I’m having difficulty finding a live ignition feed inside the bulkhead, anyone got any ideas

Or just run a wire. The fuse box and loom on a Defender is pretty basic.

That said. Why not just use the sidelights?

Run a new switched fused feed from the battery- it's not difficult. Best option is to take a fused supply directly from the battery and run it through a relay triggered from the ignition or alternator charge warning light terminal- with the alternator connection they'll come on when the engine starts.

DRLs are much brighter than sidelights (which are pretty hopeless during the day) so they also need a connection to the sidelights so they switch off at night. Some have this built in, otherwise use a second relay triggered from the sidelights and use the normally closed terminal.

I used stop/tail bulbs in the front sidelamp position (with clear lenses) to give a subtle DRL which dimmed down to sidelight intensity at night.
