You should be able to take an auxiliary ignition feed direct from the back of the ignition switch.
Although I would not bother as personally dislike halo lights and think they are little tacky.

Why would you want them to come on with the ignition,??? wire them into the side lights but run a separate wire to a switch
if you want them on. Are these the ones that light up white or amber (depends which wire you choose)

Yes they are amber in the indicator

If they are DRLs, they need to be wired to an ignition-switched supply and dim or switch off when you turn on the side light. With the integrated indicator function, the DRL should switch off when indicating. As they are integrated into the headlamp they probably do this automatically, but make sure they do. So take a supply from the back of the switch, run it through a 5A fuse and into the engine bay through the main grommet. Also bear in mind that also you are not technically supposed to have more than one front indicator per side.

What I did on my old 90 was fit dual-filament brake light lamps in the front sidelight position, with clear lenses. With the use of a couple of relays, the brighter filament was wired as a DRL, with the dimmer filament as the sidelight. That way it all looks standard.
