Today driving 15 to 20 miles and unless it"s my imagination I thought I could hear a slight rumbling noise from underneath my 2003 Freelander TD4 Automatic.I could also feel a slight shaking in the drivers seat. I know I have a dodgy Front Bush on the Rear Diff so could this be the problem. I know it"s a bit hit and miss but I"ve got it going in to the garage mext week and I need some sort of idea what it could be before he starts charging me hundreds of pounds for nothing.
147000 miles and normally drives like a dream.
Cheers

The front diff mount sounds like a good start.

Are you running 4 matching tyres - same make and model of tyre pumped to the same pressures?

Have you done a 1 wheel up test to see if the VCU is still serviceable?

Hi,
Yes all tyres the same with same pressure and no I have not done a 1 wheel up test, I don"t even know what a 1 up wheel test is or how to do it. Can you let me know.
I think the Front Bush is faulty because everytime I accelerate too quickly after slowing down I get a loud clunking noise from the rear. FreelanderTD4 Automatic.
Whats the weather like in new Zealand?
cheers

The link above shows the test, does sound like your diff mount, the 2 at the back can be a really good condition, but the front one's knackered - worth checking all 3 though while you're there.

Well we're in the equivalent of a southern hemisphere April ... and April showers sounds about right. Have a few really nice days up in the 20's then, like today its frigging cold barely getting to double digits, peeing down with hail mixed in - very noisy on the tin roof. Having said that, was lovely later this afrvo, if still chilly, and managed to fill a wool sack with weeds from the garden :)

Hi you lucky Kiwi. The weather here is Crap but worse, far worse than that we have to put up with months, could even be years more of BREXIT!!!!!!!!!
All the best
