hi, just bought a freelander 1998 2.0 di,When i drive along i sometimes get a noise which sounds like going over the rumble strip on a motorway.on slowing down to a standstill it feels like the brakes are coming on then it goes off .i have 3 months warranty on the vechile howerver i feel it if take it back to the dealer they wont find any thing wrong please help

the rumble goes off if i put the clutch down. i also noticed that one of the rear tyres was worn on the inside prior to collection . The dealer put has put new rear tyres on the vechile

Check the tyres for uneven wear. You may find that the tread is raised in one part then the next bit it is lowered. The tyre should be smooth all the way round. if thats not the problem then it could be your prop shaft bearings. if the car has over 50k on the clock they will be due to be replaced

Hi
Thanks for your respond ref-tyres,i have only had the freelander a couple of days . The rear tyres are brand new when i viewed the vehicle the inner part rear tyres were worn not sure if they had been rotated from the front. the freelander has 90k on the clock
