Some tall ugly thick freak (will remain namless) has run his key from the rear quarter, through both doors and finally on to the front wing of my lovely Rangie! lol

Anyway, I am in talks with my very good local paint sprayer with regards to the most cost efficient way to deal with it. And it's still going to be very costly to pay him cash, so it's going to be an insurance job. I have protected no claims (full) and my excess is £250, so if I remove all the parts and rebuild it, he's happy to forget that cost, which is fine with me.

So it will cost me nothing in the short term, but I realise my premium may raise slightly in future for this small claim. But that's the best I can do in the circumstances.

So, I've read Rave and understand how the door handles come off and the door strips and bottom door strips are removed.

But can they be removed without damaging them????? They are not glued on and use clips which is positive, but I'm worried they may bend when removed.

Any advice if you've actually removed them on this matter would be great.

The only positive part on this matter, is that the side that was damaged had a few dings which spoilt an otherwise immaculate car, so at least they will be gone.

the scratches can prolly be sorted without a full side respray!!

try dent doctor or summat like that. they will give a free estimate!!
