A quick enquiry. Does anyone know where I can get the rubber weather seals that fit around the plastic cup which provides access to the headlamp bulbs? Tried a couple of places today but got the usual "No mate, they come with the headlamp".

Wammers.
Thanks for the reply. But these are a tuppence fix. Done in time, before road gritters start throwing out the rock salt , would save a perfectly good set of headlamps from corrosion. Surely the original company that made them had realised that the rubber would perish, (mines a 55 plate Freelander 1), and had a stock available to make a bit of extra dosh. It would cost me more trawling around breakers yards than it would for the manufacturers to supply and post me two.
Incidentally, I sat in the sunshine and glued the broken and perished ends together, refitted them and they seem to be holding. That said, the next time I have to take the cover off to put in a new bulb, it'll be throw a six and start off on the same thread again.,

You'll never guess what? I was walking along Barmouth sea front (North Wales) this afternoon and lying on the footpath was a nearly new rubber seal that will be the ideal fit for what I'm after. If you can't be anything else in life, be lucky.
