What I thought would be a half hour job to replace the sender has now
turned into a major operation. The sender is seated very firmly and the
idiot that installed has rounded the hexagonal parts. I have continued
the rounding part in my efforts to get it off but no success. At this
stage I think the best bet would be to take the inlet manifold off so
that I can tackle this with a large vice grip.
The question is:
I have recently replaced the manifold gasket with a composite one. Can I
use this again or do I buy a new one? I suppose I should inspect it
first. Maybe I could use a bit of jointing compound when reassembling?
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks
Paul
