If you are refering to the channel the glass runs in, it is bolted into the door and is replaceable, no need to buy whole door, and maybe one of the bolts coulda fallen out or come loose, you should be able to slip the rubber on the top of the door up enough to get a torch shon in there to have a look.

So have you had a light shon down the door yet??

Not yet. Couldn't find my blasted torch! Had the seal off over the top of the door. There seem to be three bolts holding it in place. Two at the top and bottom of the forward facing (when closed) edge of the door and one at the top of rear facing edge. The top two (front and rear) are holding it but the bottom one at the front just turns and turns and I think has let go of the door top. Can't get the bolt out. So, I've put a metal washer between the door and the door top at the front edge and it's just enough to push it into the seal and keep the air / water / noise out. Dunno how long it'll last though!

He is very good, been going for years. Does most things machanical, welding etc. Not to sure re bodywork. Sells parts over the counter, usually from stock and he is local. He can be a a bit pricey, but you can haggle and he wont rip you off!!!! Mine is going up there on friday....joy!!!

Fett, i left the classic because i was offered an Overfinch Autobiography p38 some years ago, at a very resonable price, couldn't say no! and what a great car that was, so wish i had never sold it.

I think I'll give him a call tomorrow. My mudflap on my Defender was torn off the bodywork (i.e. the top and bottom halves) when I was cruising across Salisbury Plain the other day and needs a bit of welding to get it back on. Might also get him to quote me for some new inner and outer sills for the Range Rover. Bet that'll be a tad on the expensive side!
