Hi guys, my 1994 soft dash rrc 300tdi LHD with ABS. the front axle has been changed to non abs but still with vented discs. A second axle came with it with the Nr stamped 53L02953B, it has abs hubs. I can't find any reference regarding this number as according to info I have found so far the Nr should be 34S16421C or RTC5890 for LHD. Does anyone have any info regarding axle types that should be on this vehicle, and are the difs all the same ratio these days. (older landies I've had in the past had iether salisbury axles or some other type which were not compatible. I have also read that there are 2 differend length (width) axles, (for fitting ally wheels) ??
I have just had a clean up and found a axle marked 98 disco 300, Nr76L11349A
The axle on the RR is non ABS Nr30M33170A. What I want to do is build 1 axle with ABS but for ordering parts, none of my axle Nr's match suppliers Nr's.

any diso or rrc 300 tdi abs axle will do as they are the same, but disco might be solid disc but thats an easy change 2 x disc and calipers, your different axle ,abs axles vary in that they have different chrome balls and top swivel pin etc, if you want a list of parts i can give you one

Thanks for that, I will examine the 2 diffs I have & the 4 swivel hub ends & use the best to build onto the 98 disco 300 axle, 2 new discs & use the calipers already fitted as they are the abs type & for vented discs. I'm not sure if each axle has a unique Nr or if they were type Nr's. And did they punch the Nr's on upside down for a joke ??
