Rr sport hse electronic park brake noise

Hi all,
i have a problem with my rr sport hse, putting into park and engaging electronic park brake, a noise starts like you have ran over a cat or something

any help would be great before it goes to dealers.

Sounds like the actuator is playing up. They have a motor that pulls the cable to the rear shoes chances are that is on it's way out. You have to be carefull when playing with this system as it is easy to get it out of adjustment leading to all kind of issues with it binding. There are procedures you have to follow to " mount" the park brake before you work on it.

The screech happens when the park brake unit has to pull too far on the cables - and will quickly wreck it.Often the shoes are badly adjusted so they overheat and the linings break up/fall off.
Not cheap,nor nice to do if you end up replacing the EPB module.(Which is easier to remove than Topix states......)
