This is just a bit of fun and see what we are getting MPG on our P38's

I just want to know what other people are getting on the display MPG on their P38's

I went on the motorway yesterday, nice day and was driving at a reasonable speed when I wanted to check what MPG I was getting from my p38 2.5 dse with the M51 engine as I have recently done some work on her and this was my first motorway trip, plus we had worked her hard whilst towing.

I want to see if anyone else can get close to the MPG I got, I have a picture to prove the speed, revs, mileage and most importantly the MPG

I normally get much lower whilst driving on A & B roads

Thanks

Dave

Yes I understand that but it sat like that for over 20 miles and only dropped when I started to go up a bit of a hill.

It's just a bit of fun at the end of the day and wanted to throw it out to see if anyone else was getting over the normal mileage

Cheers

my thor 4.0 is currently sitting on 20.3mpg
on a trip to chester the other day, mostly A roads, NSL/50 was 23.9 when I pulled up at the car park

Can anyone beat 94.6mpg??

If you can take a photo to show what you are getting and post that would be a real challange...............lol

I know at times we are on our own so please don't take a pic whilst driving, get a passenger to do it........lol

The 94.6 was obtained resetting then coasting just below 30 MPH down a long hill out of Preston to the motorway, on the way to Manchester airport. Five up and full of luggage. Did an average 34 MPG there and back at 65 to 70 MPH for the most part..

Normal 65-70MPH on non-start-stop (yes, I know) Motorways I have seen 22.3MPG shown on my 4.6THOR engined bus. The least hold-ups etc. and it drops rapidly to horrid numbers.

Long term brim to brim average over a ten year period on mine is 24 mpg. On the dash, depending on speed and conditions I have seen up to 31mpg which equated to a real 28mpg.
