RR Diesel wont start help please

Assuming the hoses to and from the turbo are OK, it should fire on easy start.
Black in the fuel is usually bacterial growth in the tank, you may need to flush the system if it's bad and has got into the FIP, you will certainly need to change the fuel filter probably more than once. You should get a very high pressure squirt of fuel from an injector if you crack open the union.

I always thought Easy Start and Diesels don't mix as there is no ignition so to speak!!

Quick thing to eliminate.

Check glowplug (80 amp) fuse. It is on the glowplug relay next to the engine ECU.

Morning all, just checked that fuse and its intact, this thing is a head sratcher, is there anyone or dose anyone recomend a auto spark at reasonable rates, i think this is looking electrical

when i had the pipe off one of the injectors it was just a drip when trying to fire

So there is no injection pressure, either blocked with bacterial slime or the FIP is dead/stop solenoid not working.

Easy start is the way to start a diesel in cold weather with dead glowplugs.
Lots of people say it's bad but never caused me a problem as long as it's going in as a vapour and not liquid.
All model diesel engines run on the stuff, it's ether

no , in early days we used to roll up newspaper ,light one end and get someone to turn it over , flames got it started

If it won't fire on easy start, I'd be looking at the timing chain

has it got fuel shut off solenoid ?(dont know newer stuff)and can you get fuel out off inj. pipe when bleeding?

It has, already mentioned that. He only gets a dribble from the injector pipes.
Whatever, it should at least fire on easy start if the valves open and close and it has compression.

no won't even give a twitch on easy, everything turns as it should cam is going round and all the bottom pulleys etc, could it have strecthed and knocked everything out

Take the pipe off the inlet manifold and try a squirt of easy start in there. If it still does not fire I would do a compression check on all cylinders.
What's the mileage?

Reading through RAVE it says if the becm is unarmed it sends a signal to the engine light on the dash and i have not got one could this be the cause of all my woes

NO not if it will not even fire on easy start. With easy start all it needs is for the engine to turn over and to have compression, it should fire but it will not continue to run if there is another problem. No fire on easy start means a mechanical problem.
