When I approach 50-58mph and happen to go over a bump, the entire truck
including the steering wheel will vibrate until over 60mph. Happens at
standard height or highway height as well as when suspension height is
locked.

Any ideas?

I seem to remember somthing in the group to this effect regarding preload on
the big ball joint thingys on the front diff. It could also have been tie
rod ends, and steering damper as well, as this discussion was some time
back.

I dont have P38 wiechle, but just fought with the same issue on Disco I.

There are three (not absolute) causes : worn track rod ends, loose
swivel pin housin, worn panhard rod bushes.

I had badly worn Panhard rod bushes for example. Nasty part was, that
mounting bracket hole was also worn oval. Disco manual gives only 88 Nm
for Panhard rod bolt torque, whereas P38 manual says 200. No wonder,
that it came loose over time. Bolt itself was just 8.8 grade and
mounting bracket feels also made from really mild steel. Hopefully they
used some harder stuff for P38 axle.

Some joints in the steering are a little loose. Not rattle-loose, but
not enough friction to damp out vibrations. Could be kingpin bearings,
could be in the steering box, and you might not feel any slack, but the
steering might be a bit light.

Stick the front wheels on the back, at least you can eliminate wheels then,
though if you have razor strap tyres and big alloys its not unknown for the
wheels to get buckled by the unsympathetic drivers.

Other pointers are good but the above is cheap!
