My grandfather was a civvie mechanic for the REME at their Colchester depot. It's astonishing how many things in my childhood were painted olive drab.......

My grandad(dads side) was REME during WW2.
He was attachted to LRDG and went with them all over the western dessert.
They were so impressed with him they allowed him to wear thier cap badge!
Radios were his specialality.

My dad still has the metal cap badge.

:)

Got the R.E.M.E. badge fitted on the grill at last....

Took me a while, but I fabricated my own fixing bracket, because the bolt supplied was about 10mm too short, and didn't hold it securely enough for my liking.

:tea:

Dam I'm not back untill a few days after.
REME when I was in Bordon and had a freelander it caught fire at the trafic lights next to the old fire station not good. Bloody V6 lol

Anyone else out there with connections to the REME, and are you going to Convoy for Heroes this year? (2012).

Cheers, in anticipation. Mike

Would not waste my time, no heroes, just bio robots

Thanks fanatic mate love you to.
Did not think of my self as a bi robot

Propaganda as far as I'm concerned, but raghead wog bastards and their children do not count!

Personaly I'm all for help for heros due to there good work especially for some of my friends that have had some horrific injuries. But the media that surrounds it well I say it helps with fundraising but kicks the crap out of the point of it.

Now we could agree on some common ground, why is a charity needed for a state employer.

If your working for the state and abdul blows the **** out of you with a scrap heap challenge bomb- surely the state should provide and not **** you off to some charity!

That I more than agree on there are lots of good aspects that the gov do but there are some sockingly bad ones to.

Take one lad I know a double amputee so where do they put him to live in a high rise flat untill he gets his own place sorted with his incurance money.

Yeah, the irony of it?

If I moved the 'SPA' she'd be four inches closer to the house in the morning... :bump2:

:)
Ever since if fitted new cables a few years ago ,I keep threatening to cut 15mm off the cable spring on the drum end .They're just too long and stop the shoes from opening properly. I am going to attempt it in the next week .:blah::blah::blah:
