Having searched this forum there seems little info about the Roverdrive overdrive unit. I have a 110 with R380 box and want to know if this overdrive is a) value for money. b) reliable c) noisy or not!
I hope someone with real experience can reflect their views or suggest another product.

Do you have any links?

I am only familiar with the GKN unit.

edit: links here: http://www.roverdrives.com/faqs.html

Looks promising. Sounds better than the GKN unit. my only gripe is the FAQ does not explain what happens if/when it breaks. Specifically in the 'is the ROVERDRIVE reliable in expedition environments?'. I was put off fitting a GKN unit as I understand that if you cannot engage/disengage it or it breaks, it locks the transfer box gears. Not something you want far from anywhere, therefore not suitable for remote travel. The Roverdrive FAQ does not go into much detail on this.

might be worth targeting the US forums as I know a few guys on the Expedition Portal run these on series vehicles. the D90 forum may also be worth a look.

Let us know what you find out.

i have a friend who is buying a roverdrive purely because it is better mechanically han any other on the market, hes saving his pennies at the minute and could lecture me for hours on the pros lol . perhaps ill get him on here to explain. he has a 200 tdi defender

lol yea the tbox transfer is as much cheper mod but he is currently rebuilding his rover, its literally in a pile on his garge floor lol, he only got ht eaxles on the other week been stripped down for almost a year . they are expensive but they are good

I have just fitted a Roverdrive in my Defender 90 '97.
The instructions are OK but I am willing to pass on my experience on the fitting side.
Re driving it, there is a small whine which they say will fade after use as it "runs in".
Noticable drop in revs with it engaged and they said it was strong enough for most use.
Well engineered, packed and not difficult to fit.
Cheers
