As Andy said..there is no easy way. The BECM has to be removed and the logic board, which sits behind the power board removed. Six wires then have to be soldered to certain connections on the board to enable data to be read from the CPU. The BECM can then be left in an unlocked state and refitted, this will allow the lockset code to be reprogramme, together with other data not allowed with a locked BECM. Test Book is simply unable to unlock a BECM whereas Rovacom CPU software is and is the only method available..outside of the BECM manufacturers. Test Book will load all data to a NEW BECM only, as it comes unlocked, when all the vehicle data is inputted, Test Book automatically locks it..if LR make a mistake loading the info., then it's a new BECM. I carry out several "Unlocks" over here for main stealers who have made such mistakes after ordering new BECM's from the UK and don't want egg on their faces, or as a last resort (Kept quiet) need to reprogramme or read info. from a customers BECM.
You can leave the car sitting on the driveway for ever..it will not sort itself out. Either get it towed to a main stealer and have a new BECM fitted (Around a grand) or spend 20 minutes removing the BECM and send it for unlocking and reading. Search as much as you like for an easy fix, Google,Ask, Yahoo etc. and I bet you get the same answer.
At the end of the day, I would love to tell you what you want to hear but I can't and won't.
The final choice is up to you.
