I need help deciding what roof racks to get so i can attach snowboard and ski carriers to.

Do i go for the gutter jobs, or the ones which fix to the roof rails?

They wont need to hold a lot but, they have to fix snowboard carriers to.

Seen some Thule ones which fix to the standard rails, has anyone had any experience. Thet were £75. The problem is that the ski/snowboard carriers generallty only fit onto square bars. I have seen some discos which low profile bars which appear to fit onto the rails and i assume the are genuine LR jobs. Anyone had any experince with these. Are they sqaure?

Do they generate alot more noise and will it drain the fuel??

If anyone has any ideas how i can carry boards and skis outside the car, please let me know.

Its for a TD5

I have an temp roof rack that fit to ford transit etc it is a gutter bolts on etc and I take em off when not in use etc but if u want permanent fix then get the real mccoy lR job remember drag and fuel etc get the low profile that sit almost on the roof etc

Thule 'clamp on' fitting (#775?) with square bars will fit fine on the existing rails and will easily take the weight you have in mind.

I've also got one of their gutter mount kits and load four bikes up there from time to time, try and ignore the fuel use when those are up there though!
