I've just bought by first Land Rover, a new 110 Td5 Station Wagon (which I love) and want to buy an full size Expedition roof rack and access ladder (which I'd need to get someone to fit). Being new to the Land Rover world, I'm amazed at the options available for accessories, but also flumouxed by them. I have been quoted £1,100 for the lot by my local dealership, but its considerably more than I want to spend. Can anybody advise on a good, general use roof rack and what the options are for the ladder fitting? Many thanks.

Hello,

I recently sold My landrover 110 and still have the full length roof rack, it has a couple of dents on it but is still in good working order.
Its just sitting in the garden at the moment so if you are interested in having a look let me know, and it will cost you no where near £1100.
It is very easy to attach to the roof too.

If you look at my profile you can see a photo of my old landrover with it on (this link should work: http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/members/scott110.html)

I have a Brownchurch full length roofrack with ladder on my 110. In my opinion the best, even new they cost a lot less than the megger money the main stealer is trying to get off you. Have a look at the Brownchurch web site they have a lot of options. You can find these all the while secondhand for around £150.00 - £200.00

also try typing brownchurch into ebay search.
theres usually one or two for sale.

Many thanks to everybody that has replied to my post. I'm now retreating to consider my options - and I certainly won't be taking the dealership offer.

not too far, frodsham, just off j12 m56, hes out in the sticks a bit tho, last time i was up there he was on about moving, dunno where to tho. he was half way through inventing a coil spring suspension system that replaced the rear half of your leaf springs, i think hes a bit of an engineering genius, he was only 16 when i first met him and he was developing a gear system to replace the timing chain on a v8 ffs

Dear All!

Some exciting news! I'm currently finishing off the building work on our new premesis- On Pike Lane, Kingsley, Cheshire! The roofing + guttering is currently being done, there's some more painting... and a LOT more moving of stock! But im getting there! Not bad for Europe's Youngest Land Rover Dealer!

In a couple of weeks time we will be holding an opening event.. or some could say a party! Watch our news page on the main site (www.thegreenlandy.co.uk) as we will be announcing dates and times on there! We will throw a proper Winter fest for all who venture over here by Land Rover!.. those in lesser vehicles will be thrown to the waxoil duties... (Poor jokes I know!)... although me riding a Honda motorbike.....nevermind!

Anyhow - Seasons Greetings to all + Best Wishes
