If you are planning to use it for carrying stuff on a regular basis a Brownchurch rack is a better option , IMHO
I would agree with that. The flat racks like you have linked are designed so you can easily mount a roof tent to it and fold it out without fouling on the side bars. If this is what you want then get that style of rack. If you need a roof rack for hauling thinks and kit rather than expedition work get a brownchurch one. You can also get heavy duty version which have additional vertical supports to spread the load more evening.

I have a Brownchurch with ladder bought new in 1993, currently swapped onto its third CSW. Galv a bit thin on rubbed top rails maybe, but basically as good as the day I bought it. Hope their quality is as good today! Good luck, A

55 Kg ? Most good roof racks are made of aluminium. I had a Brownchurch rack and had to replace in in Walvisbay in Namibia as it was starting to buckle and bend on the corrugations of long distance gravel roads. Bought a Frontrunner one and have now had it for 15 years and still going strong.
