So, whilst having a bit of rust around my alpine windows sorted out by my local bodyshop, the roof lining is out and I'm taking the opportunity to do some related bits and pieces.

Re seal sunroof x 2
Re seal roof bars
Re cover headlining

I also bought 2 of the sunroof seals that the glass beds onto. Question is how does it fit? Do I do it with the sunroof attached or while it is out? Can't seem to find any decent pics of how the rubber seal works.

just put them into open position and pull the old seal out, if you give the mount a good clean and a bit of lube they will go in ok

When I have looked at my glass seal, that's just once or twice maybe just to clean it, it appears to me that removing the glass first will make things easier when replacing the seal if need be. Other than that I don't use sunroofs so lucky for me no problems.

Did they do the whole roof? If so what kind of price was it? I need mine done, and would also like the area above the windscreen done as it has a few stone chips.

Yes, whole roof £600. I got 3 local quotes and they were all within £20!

I have finally discovered the cause of the puddle that collected on the fron passenger side floor mat. A previous owner/garage has shortened the front sunroof drainpipe and just fitted about 6 inches of copper tube to the end and simply poked that into the A pillar. This results in the water being distributed around the back of the glove compartment instead of dropping to the bottom of the A pillar. Longer pipe now fitted. Just got to stop water getting passed sunroof glass seal and then job done.
